We’re excited to spotlight some of our BTC2019 teachers this year, and today, we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Bain, P.E. Tyler will be teaching “Bitcoin Network Energy Consumption”. Check out our chat with Tyler to learn more:

How did you get involved in your subject area & why are you passionate about teaching it?

My passion on the topic started out as a hobby, however, being a professional in the electrical industry, I began to see through some of the fraudulent calculations and conclusions being made towards the proof-of-work mining energy consumption. I am interested in getting valid data and tools for study of the subject into the hands of those who can utilize it most.

Why do you think certifications and standards are important in the blockchain industry today?

The mantra in the blockchain world is “don’t trust, verify,” and standards and certifications in this nascent industry help facilitate some of that verification.

Why have you decided to teach a session at #BTC2019?

To help promote accurate data and propagate knowledge on the subject of Bitcoin and blockchain mining energy consumption.

We’re looking forward to attending Tyler’s master class at BTC2019! Make sure to join us by getting your tickets here.
